Tom Walsh is the founder of Walsh Wealth Strategies. With related experience as a lawyer and as a charity executive, Tom became a Financial Advisor in 2005 guided by the desire to help people solve problems, make plans and realize dreams. Tom believes 'it all fits together' and brings to his role as a Financial Advisor a blended background and understanding of complex insurance protection strategies and investment strategies, as well as a diverse life experience. Being part of one himself, Tom has a particular passion for providing planning to families with special needs family members and is honored to have this be a central focus of his practice. He has been conferred the Chartered Special Needs Consultant ™ designation from the American College.
A native of the Washington area and a graduate of Landon School, Williams College and Georgetown University Law School, Tom is also an active community volunteer and serves on the Advisory Board of Potomac Community Resources, a Washington area non-profit providing therapeutic, social, recreational, and educational programs to adolescents and adults with developmental differences and formerly served on the Board of Health Services for Children with Special Needs (HSCSN) which provides innovative care to the pediatric Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and SSI-eligible populations of Washington, DC through a management network that coordinates health, social, and education services.
Tom also enjoys the constant variety of sport, gardening, photography, music, and spending good time with his friends and family. He lives in North Bethesda, Maryland with his wife and two children.
